Open Tuning

I'm finally going to start experimenting with composing in an open tuning for this album.  I've done one song in drop D and one in DADGAD with a capo on the 5th fret.  After listening to Alex de Grassi's The Water Garden tonight I've decided to use that open tuning - DAGCGC.  I went to start tonight and broke the third string trying to get it up to C.
